to look like this but given what i had to work with

(almost nothing), it was a pretty good first try.

so maybe i've seen it twice.

once in 3D. once in...regular D.

go for 3D. it's worth the $4 extra. promise.

project runway. i know, i know. late again.

so how awesome that the winning designer

got their design on a billboard in times square?!

that's...HUGE. pun intended.

i LOVED the winning design! i've been wanting

to squeeze myself into a jumpsuit for awhile now.

i know, i know, it just won't work for

my bodacious bod but a girl can dream. dream BIG!

this beaut almost makes me believe i could pull it off.

i said ALMOST.

second to the onesie, i really liked the red ensemble.

although i'm not convinced the tailoring/structure

deserved all the raving from the judges. but the neckline

and the color get an A+ from me.

oh...AND

what are your thoughts the mondo meltdown?

m'peanut says super tender. i say make a friend already.

but still, i kinda don't hate him. should i?

walk the walk 2010.

last week, i had the awesome opportunity to do hair and makeup

for hurley's walk the walk student fashion show held

in conjunction with the us open of surfing!

it was really fun to push myself and have to

think on my feet as far as styling goes.

evelyn from toms river east in new jersey

(that's right - jersey shore, baby!)

was a doll to work with.

we did a modified "snookie" and kicked the

pouf to the side, braided up the back and then

secured the remaining hair in a side pony.

she loved it!

this little miss needed

a wild look to match her wild character.

her hair needed to draw attention but

she still had to be able to incorporate the

character mask that was part of her costume.

we teased the top and formed it into a mile-high mohawk,

kept the sides smoothed and roughed up the ends

to create a wild style that looked fierce!

for another cdm darling, we gave her some volume

and the front, wrapped the top of her hair into a bun,

brought the back of her hair up to the crown

in a modified french braid, leaving the rest to

cascade down the side of her face.

this style was perfect for her as a dancer

in her school's program. she needed her hair to be

off her face and secure but voluminous and interesting

at the same time.

after the styling was done, i ran out to catch the show.

it was great to see my work on the runway.

even better, corona del mar high won the competition!

i like to think it was my awesome

hairstyling schools that contributed to that. ha! all in all, it was

a great experience and i would do it again in a heartbeat!

weekend.

sometimes my friends and i dance

the night away and then camp out at the 7-11

until the wee hours of the morn.

we're awesome like that.

kogi.

dusty and i braved the crowds and hopped in

line for the kogi truck. it's korean bbq to-go. they announce

their locations via twitter and the peeps line up to partake.

sometimes they wait for HOURS. luckily, our wait wasn't bad.

short rib tacos? spicy pork quesadillas?

oh my yum. i'm all in.

project runway. we're off!

honestly, i wasn't SUPER impressed with a lot of the designs.

i DID really liked the winning design though.

this early on, it's often hardto pick a fave

but i'm pretty sure i know who i DON'T like.

the latino with the D&G pants is at the top of the list of annoyances.

i can't believe the judges kept him. speaking of the judges,

i felt like they were REALLY harsh this ep. i kinda felt bad for everyone.

oh also, i'm not sure mckell should've gone home.

spectacular spectacular.

oxygen has a new show coming out: hair battle spectacular.

i'm thinking it's gonna be a half a step above rupaul's drag race,

but i'll still be tuning in. you know there's gonna be so much drama.

hair drama is the best (and worst) kind. can't WAIT!

comedy tonight!

i was invited to do the stage makeup

for men alive - the orange county gay men's chorus.

never one to turn down an opportunity, i jumped at the

chance to hone my stage makeup skills.

originally, i was slated to only do the

makeup for the bride of frankenstein...

...but ended up making up a passel of monsters.

pure craziness. pure hilarity.

here's vern. my bride. he's a doll.

rik/uncle fester was also a lot of fun to work with.

so so so SO sweet and funny.

oh and also, i met leslie jordan.

'member him? karen's nemesis on will & grace.

the man is hilarious. like...HYSTERICAL!

exhibit a: after makeup, he offered to trade my

people magazine for his already read magazines.

this is what he came back with. yep, that's right.

national enquirer. as he dropped them off he said:

"you need to read about whitney and her drug problem.

her and lindsey [lohan]...what's to become of them?!"
